Introducing Data Rooms

Credora Network

--

Organized data rooms are crucial for conducting due diligence effectively, especially in the private credit market where documentation standards vary.

On the Credora platform, borrowers regularly submit company documents for their credit assessment, which can be shared with active or prospective counterparties. However, the current distribution process has limitations. Borrowers can only share documents with lenders they are directly connected to on the platform. Also, the shared documents are not surfaced alongside key information like credit metrics, structured financial data, or risk monitoring data.

To address these challenges, Credora built ‘Data Room’, a new component of ‘Dynamic Reports’ that allows borrowers to securely share sensitive documents with any counterparty — whether they’re a Credora client or not.

Flexibility

The Data Room is seamlessly integrated with Credora Dynamic Reports. When creating a Dynamic Report, borrowers can now opt in to include the ‘Data Room’ component (along with other relevant components), and select the specific documents they wish to share with counterparties.

For instance, borrowers can generate a Dynamic Report link that incorporates their structured financials and graphs, Credit Metrics and the Data Room. Alternatively, they can choose to create a dynamic report that includes only the Data Room component. This provides borrowers with a flexible distribution experience that can be tailored to their specific engagement with counterparties.

Documents are categorized into folders (Financials, Business, Validation, etc.) and tagged according to their content (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, etc.). Each document is unique to its folder but can have multiple tags.

Secure Distribution

Data Rooms benefit from the same security features as Dynamic Reports. Access links to the data room are private and restricted to whitelisted counterparties explicitly approved by the borrower. For added security, authorized users can access the report only after verifying their email with a one-time verification code.

Traceability

The Data Room comes with an end-to-end traceability feature. This allows users of dynamic reports to easily access the source documents linked to structured financial statements for any given period. As such, a ‘Citation’ icon appears next to each period of the Balance Sheet or Income Statement. This leads to a modal page where users can access a side-by-side view of the structured financial information and the relevant source document(s).

The traceability feature offers capital allocators an additional layer of validation, enhancing the due diligence process and enabling lenders to make more informed decisions.

Conclusion

Credora is committed to continuously enhance the core features of the Data Room. Have feedback or ideas on the functionality? Share your thoughts with us.
